Hi there – Visit here for the giveway No. 32 winner announcement. I’m going to leave this blog the way it is, but official blog has moved to here so please update your bookmark!! Be sure to sign up our mailing list for subscriber only discount offers!!
Hello there – Decoylab had a facelift! What do you think? I am notorious for coming up with just..one..more..project.. to fill up my already busy schedule. But hey, interweb is where my business exist and it deserved a nice home. Right?
I should have known that I am not a blogger for many reasons but mostly because it’s not my priority and never will be. I saw many shops having blog as their first page and thought, “hey why not?” only to quickly realize that it will not work for me.
So I thought it would be worthwhile to join Adobe Creative Cloud. Now I fond this new application called Muse. I wanted to give it a try. I suppose much easier to use than Dreamweaver in some aspect – except that I can’t mess with their codes. I have no idea how my website looks on your screen as I didn’t test with different browsers or anything. If you see anything weird, or out of the ordinary (or “find bug” as they call it) please let me know.
Today is beautiful! Hope your day is going well. I am finally getting around to the Giveaway for May. I have not listed the new swan clock in my shops yet, but I thought it would be fun to give one away! I hope you like it.
To win this brand new clock please answer the following questions:
What inspires you lately?
And leave your answer in the comment section below. At the beginning of June, one winner will be randomly selected and announced.
So the giveaway.. Let’s do the winner announcement today. Hopefully tomorrow, weather permitted, I will be here to start the new giveaway for this month. It’s interesting to hear all of your opinions about which side the navigation should be on. Opinion was almost split in half but in the end Left won by 3 points. Does this mean it’s going to be left? Ummm, maybe. I am working on a new idea for my home page right now. (yes it’s endless.) so while this blog will remain the way it is, I may alter things a bit for the new site.
Now the winner of the giveaway No. 16 is Nushechka who wrote on April 6th. Congratulations!
Please email me your shipping address: info [at] decoylab.com.
Thanks for playing! Will be back tomorrow…
This week, I’ve been busy diving into a wedding invite design for lovely Simone while carrying on with clock orders simultaneously. Lots of small things happening here at the studio. I am testing out new clock designs and making new tea towels. I’ve finally made rubber stamps for all of my clocks for wholesale labeling. (photo below.) Now that’s a lot of stamps!
You already know a lot more than you THINK you know. Trust it. Follow it. Be connected.
My design portfolio needs to be redone now that I’ve lost everything. It will have less prominence than before. This will be yet another project (better make that a separate post it note category!) and totally not on my priority list. Though, it is decided that it’ll be hosted by Cargo Collective.
Yesterday, I almost spent entire day thinking about ways to better organize so many ideas that have been floating in my head. Prior to this, I have been grabbing pieces of paper to jot down ideas, urgent task lists etc. Unfortunately, it often resulted in overflow of paper around my desk or they get misplaced and forgotten.
After much thinking, this is what I came up with… I made a post-it note organizer binder to keep anything from product ideas to wholesale orders to products to be photographed, edited and uploaded. I like to be able to stick each task or assignment under its proper category and binder makes it portable. I made the binder thin and small so it fits into my purse easily. I can have “Blog” category to jot down ideas for blog post too! The best part of using mini post-it note is that I can move them around and prioritize.
I also decided to carry a mini notebook everywhere I go to jot down ANYTHING that I have to remember for later because there has been too many times I think of something important while assembling or packaging clocks and I would forget what it was after I am done with the task.
Now, only if I can remember to carry the mini notebook…
Happy Thursday! Here are some snapshots of items from “To be added” list.
