Paper n Stitch

Uncomplicated was featured in Paper n Stitch blog today. Thanks Brittni for the link!
Some minor updates to this website are in the works, and today I’ll be getting back a prototype for this perpetual calendar I’ve been working on. I have an unhealthy obsession with Calendars.. I’ve tried to make them every year going as far back as 2003. I cannot explain my obsession but I like challenging myself every year to make something both functional and beautiful.
July Clock: Uncomplicated

Here’s the new clock for July! I decided to call it Uncomplicated. This is the simplest clock I’ve ever made so far and definitely the first time making ‘clock’ looking clock. I wanted to do something very basic and simple instead of thinking in terms of ornamental design or embellishment on the wall. It looks pretty amazing on the wall once it’s hang. (there’s no gap between the wall and the wood.) It’s understated but have certain unique charm and warm presence to it. I’m pretty happy about that.
It’s now available on Etsy!
Kids in Style

A freight company came and picked up the boxes yesterday and my stomach was in knot when my husband told me that the guy just tossed one of the boxes in the back of the truck. eeek!!! We told him to be gentle but boy.. I am praying that they all get there safely. We worked very hard on these!! But aside from that, I’m very excited about the trade show. I wish I could be there..
Christina from MADE590 sent me this flyer that the trade show organizer put together to promote the event. Look at the hippo on wheels! So many cute things are out there for kids now-a-days, so as a mom I am completely reliving my childhood. (it’s just an excuse that they are for my daughter. Leela mimics me and says “it’s sooo cute” but I am sure it’s ‘normal’ for her growing up in so many things in her environment.)
When the sunny day comes, I will take pictures of the new clock for July!
Good Bye June

I realize my lack of involvement with any sort of social networking and my own blog. So I made a promise to myself that I write at least one post every week. Today, I decided to write about a general update. Honestly, I feel like I only have a certain amount of energy I can spend in a day (especially with a 2 year old!), so in order to be productive and efficient in what I do, I focus mainly on getting as much of my work done as possible in a given time period. June especially presented itself to be a challenging month for me because of the high volume of work. I am happy to say though that I was able to be productive even though I had taken 4 days off on family vacation earlier in the month. I designed 3 logos, finished one website, did some T-shirt designs (maybe that was in May..), completed several wholesale orders (including the 265 clocks for Made590) while keeping track of orders from etsy, decoylab shop and all dropship orders. I know, I know, I made some mistakes and sent wrong orders to some customers. I’m sorry!! Thanks for being patient with me as I’ve taken longer than usual to turn around some of the orders.
As some of you might have noticed, I skipped June clock this month. Instead, there will be 2 new clocks in July, rather than to rush and make something just to keep up. So I’ll have new clocks to post sometime soon (as soon as they come back from a laser cutting place.) This week, I am also starting to organize product images and build sites for wholesale and dropshipping, so that retailers will have better access to all of the product images and updated catalog. There will be a lot of updates to make in my own shop so I hope to get around to it soon.
The press image was sent to me by Pia of Urbis Home & Garden. I love that cute bird teacup!
Lastly, I am thinking about making a calendar for next year… Maybe more on that next time!
