Paper n Stitch

Uncomplicated was featured in Paper n Stitch blog today. Thanks Brittni for the link!

Some minor updates to this website are in the works, and today I’ll be getting back a prototype for this perpetual calendar I’ve been working on. I have an unhealthy obsession with Calendars.. I’ve tried to make them every year going as far back as 2003. I cannot explain my obsession but I like challenging myself every year to make something both functional and beautiful.

Kids in Style

A freight company came and picked up the boxes yesterday and my stomach was in knot when my husband told me that the guy just tossed one of the boxes in the back of the truck. eeek!!! We told him to be gentle but boy.. I am praying that they all get there safely. We worked very hard on these!! But aside from that, I’m very excited about the trade show. I wish I could be there..

Christina from MADE590 sent me this flyer that the trade show organizer put together to promote the event. Look at the hippo on wheels! So many cute things are out there for kids now-a-days, so as a mom I am completely reliving my childhood. (it’s just an excuse that they are for my daughter. Leela mimics me and says “it’s sooo cute” but I am sure it’s ‘normal’ for her growing up in so many  things in her environment.)

When the sunny day comes, I will take pictures of the new clock for July!

clocks clocks and more clocks

Finally, we are assembling our largest order to-date. Making 265 clocks for Made590. They will be my distributor in Australia. And we are hard at work putting all of the clocks together… and they are literally taking over our house!! (in the picture clocks are laid out in the kitchen floor with a help of my husband. all packaged boxes are in the dining room.) My upstairs studio is packed with stuff, and my side of garage has turned into a workshop so we use our dining, kitchen and living room spaces for assembly and packaging. I’m afraid that soon enough these clocks will be stacked up high in the bedrooms. We got 140 clocks more to go!!

Flowers are on my mind as all the plants are growing and flowering in our garden.. So I decided to make  a clock inspired by these vintage books I owned for several years. Inside has gorgeous images of flowers but my eyes are drawn to the covers.. I just love the beautiful flower colors popping against dark background. So I made mine with a black background and I gave it a slightly distressed look. The clock measures 7.5″ square with wood panel backing. It’s now available through Esty!
