August Clock: Twinkle

Introducing Twinkle… I’ve been in a mood for making simple modern clock in contrast to the intricate kirie designs. I love them both, simple and complex. Star clocks have been around for a long time, and I wanted to make my own version of it. The clock hands are black on one side and white on the other so you can have the option for white hands. Clock measures 9.5 inches in diameter. It will be available tomorrow on Etsy. I’ll post something again when it’s listed.
July Clock: Uncomplicated

Here’s the new clock for July! I decided to call it Uncomplicated. This is the simplest clock I’ve ever made so far and definitely the first time making ‘clock’ looking clock. I wanted to do something very basic and simple instead of thinking in terms of ornamental design or embellishment on the wall. It looks pretty amazing on the wall once it’s hang. (there’s no gap between the wall and the wood.) It’s understated but have certain unique charm and warm presence to it. I’m pretty happy about that.
It’s now available on Etsy!
May Clock
Flowers are on my mind as all the plants are growing and flowering in our garden.. So I decided to makeĀ a clock inspired by these vintage books I owned for several years. Inside has gorgeous images of flowers but my eyes are drawn to the covers.. I just love the beautiful flower colors popping against dark background. So I made mine with a black background and I gave it a slightly distressed look. The clock measures 7.5″ square with wood panel backing. It’s now available through Esty!
April Clock – It’s my forest
Finally – allow me to introduce a new clock “it’s my forest”. I had much fun making this clock. The clock is available in ivory or orange acrylic. They are listed on Etsy shop right now. Have a look!
New Design Every Month
This year we wanted to do something different. Since clock ideas keep popping up we decided to makeĀ it into a monthly project. Between now and October, we will be introducing a new design every month. (Why stop at October? Well, believe it or not we have to start preparing for Christmas season at that time.) That’s 8 new designs to come! This month we introduce Kirie clock. Kirie is a japanese word for paper cutting art, and the technique of kirie lends itself quite nicely to laser cutting since all images have to be connected somehow.
Clocks are made from two layers: Ivory acrylic layer and bamboo backing to bring out the intricate image. We have two versions of these clocks, Kirie 01 and Kirie 02.
These clocks are now available in our online shop as well as on Etsy.
